

GRE Eligibility Overview
Who Can Take GRE 2025?
Anyone can take the GRE in 2025, regardless of nationality, age, or educational background. There are no rigid eligibility criteria specified by ETS (the exam conducting body). The GRE is mainly planned for candidates aspiring for admission to graduate (master’s or doctoral) programs abroad, but there are no standard borders to registration.

GRE Age Requirements
- No Minimum or Maximum Age: There is no minimum or maximum age requirement for the GRE. Candidates of any age can register and write the exam.
- Under 18: Those under 18 may need parental or guardian consent to register for the test.
- Valid Passport: The primary identification document required for GRE registration and test-day entry is a valid, original passport with your name, photograph, and signature.
- Personal Information: Basic details must be given on the GRE official website during registration.
- Consent Form: For candidates under 18, written consent from a parent or legal guardian is required.
- Payment Receipt: Proof of payment for the GRE fee is needed to book a test slot.

- Attempts Limit: You can take the GRE up to five times within any timeframe of 12-month period, with a minimum gap of 21 days between attempts.
